Saturn in Aries 2025-2028 – Self-Authority and Liberating Structures
On May 25, 2025, Saturn moves from Pisces—where it has been since March 2023—into the fiery sign of Aries. Due to its retrograde motion, Saturn will briefly return to Pisces on September 1, 2025, before re-entering Aries on February 14, 2026. Saturn will then journey through Aries until April 13, 2028, when it ingresses into Taurus.
Saturn’s Transition Between Pisces and Aries
With Saturn in Pisces, we dissolved rigid structures, internalized norms, and outdated conditioning—both within and around us. We let go—consciously or not, willingly or not—of what was no longer in alignment with our truth. Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac. Saturn represents time (and aging).
With Saturn in Pisces, it was all about endings—closing cycles, and navigating the emotions that come with them: dissolution, grief, uncertainty, but also relief, liberation, and a new sense of flow.
After the unraveling of old structures and the closure of cycles (Saturn in Pisces), Saturn in Aries brings a new collective and personal task: to create new rules and structures—ones that leave room for freedom, individuality, and fresh impulses.
On a collective level, we might feel increasing pressure to allow individuals more self-responsibility and authenticity—in society, and especially in the workplace. On a personal level, you might feel a growing urge to shape your (work) life in a way that actually fits YOU—instead of molding yourself to meet societal expectations.
In 2025, we may experience a kind of push and pull between dissolution and experimentation—as Saturn moves between Aries and Pisces.
Especially during Saturn’s retrograde from August 13 to November 25, 2025—which happens mostly in Pisces—you may feel called to finally release unfinished themes, old conditioning, or even ancestral patterns.
Remember: Saturn represents long-term lessons.
We have around three years to work with, grow through, and evolve alongside the themes Saturn in Aries will bring to light.

Free Flow! Why Do We Even Need Structure?
If we were dissolving rigid structures, internalized norms, and outdated conditioning with Saturn in Pisces, why should we bother building new structures at all? Don’t they inevitably confine us?
Wenn wir mit Saturn im Wasserzeichen der Fische Strukturen auflösten, warum sollten wir überhaupt neue Strukturen errichten? Engen diese uns nicht zwangsläufig ein?
Saturn symbolizes the inner part of you that knows: As long as you're here on planet Earth, you must — and get to — learn how to work with matter: time, space, body, resources, money.
As long as you live on Earth in community with other people, some form of structure is necessary to make shared life more harmonious for everyone.
Structure and rules aren’t necessarily limiting!
A tree is stable and structured in itself — and yet it grows, shifts, and transforms.
The art of working with (our inner) Saturn lies in adapting and renewing our life and work structures (for example, during Saturn’s yearly retrograde), so that we don’t block our own or others’ growth and evolution through hardened norms.
Saturn in Aries: New Structures and Self-Authority
With Saturn in Aries, it's about recognizing your own authority instead of conforming to external authorities or fulfilling outside expectations.
Ask yourself: Whose rules are you living and working by? Are they truly your own, or are you doing many things simply “because that’s the way it’s done” or because others expect it from you?
Saturn in Aries stands for self-authority, self-responsibility, independence, and initiative.
Yes, there are certain rules — for example, at your workplace — that you have to follow.
BUT... with Saturn in Aries, you might start to question and want to change exactly that.
And especially if you're self-employed, there are many areas where you have the responsibility and the power to create your own rules and structure yourself.
What are you doing (in your job or in your relationships) that you no longer want to do — because it doesn’t align with your values and/or your skills?
What restricts you and limits your freedom, self-determination, authenticity, and independence?
It’s very possible that the Saturn-in-Aries phase becomes a time of experimentation for you. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and carries cardinal energy:
Have the courage to try new structures, systems, rules, and ways of working — and have the courage to let them go again if they turn out to be inefficient, limiting, or not aligned with your values.
Saturn in Aries: Energy Management and Healthy Anger
With Saturn in Mars’ sign, the focus is also on mindfully channeling and mastering (Saturn) your energy and willpower (Mars).
It might become important to find (or rediscover) a healthy relationship with anger and aggression—especially if you’ve suppressed these emotions in the past.
Anger is your nervous system’s natural response to boundary violations, designed to protect you and restore balance. Anger is a vital form of your life force energy.
If suppressed anger is something you struggle with, Saturn’s time in Aries could be a powerful period to work through it using somatic and/or holistic healing practices.
With Saturn in Aries, you may experience situations where it's important to set clear boundaries with integrity—and to stand up to your inner critic or external authority figures when your personal values and needs are being disrespected.
If you already have a strong connection to your energy or anger—but tend to burn out or push yourself too hard—this Saturn-in-Aries phase may be about energy management and healthy impulse control.
Do you truly have the energy for project XYZ—or are you overestimating yourself?
Do you allow yourself to rest between your “sprints,” so you can stay resourced in the long run?
This is a time to carry your long-term goals, values, and integrity (Saturn) as your inner compass— but also to follow new impulses and give yourself permission to try, fail, and learn.
So that by the time Saturn moves into Taurus in about three years, you’ll have a clearer understanding of what does and doesn’t work, and be ready to build solid, sustainable foundations and structures.
Challenges with Saturn in Aries
Overestimating your actual energy reserves
Sprint-marathons, pressure, and perfectionism: Do you expect yourself to give 100% every day in a long-term project? That’s the fast track to burnout...
Impatience: Constantly starting new things and dropping them again quickly, without giving your projects (and yourself) the time they need to grow and mature
Self-suppression: Not allowing yourself to try something new
Fighting and going to war (with yourself): Living and working with excessive self-discipline and harshness, until everything feels like a burden or a battleDein Nervensystem mit Saturn im Widder
Your Nervous System with Saturn in Aries
With Saturn in Aries, it may be essential to work on your (possibly lacking) relationship with anger and aggression (see above).
Without access to healthy anger, it’s difficult to set boundaries and take responsibility for shaping your life.
But in order to feel and express anger in a healthy way, your nervous system needs to feel safe enough to emerge from a state of freeze, numbness, or fawning (= people-pleasing and over-adaptation).
Trying out new structures with Saturn in Aries might also trigger a fear of change within you.
If you notice yourself falling into overaction (a fight response) or procrastination (a freeze response), it may be a sign that your system needs more somatic support to strengthen your sense of safety and help you reconnect with your real capacity.
What pace of “restructuring” is actually realistic and manageable for your nervous system?
